Call me stupid but I think that I asked everyone to post only 3 wants and 3 don't wants.

Not to mention that i said mention only stuff already in GW1 and not stuff from the far edge of the MMO-verse. >.>

Somehow I feel bright at this moment for posting something different from everyone else. =D!
I might have some more ideas that might be even more creative than before. Sit tight while I do so.
I mean, you ask us to post something from GW1 but there isnt much that I would like to see from GW1 to go to GW2. Everything needs a total re-configuration. I dislike most things in GW to may way of play style. I would prefer it to be a little bit better than its present status.

Probably why I didn't initially bother with this thread. Can't stand posts that begin with a bunch of rules.

I agree, never understood whether this thread waz for the whole community to express their thoughtz on wantz and dontz wantz for GW2 from GW1 or if it waz a dictatorshipz. I mean we are forced to put 3 for both wantz and dontz wantz? This must be dictatorship, =D!

Wants:
Great graphics engine, runs smooth while looking pretty.(yes, like the current one we have but improved version just for the newer generation of hardware but also accomodate slightly older systems)

speedy update that just keeps coming and coming shows anet is there and watch over the community.

no-monthly fee, like a lot of others have said, when u pay monthly fee, u feel u HAVE to play the game, it feels forced. i enjoy the freedom when i can stop playing for couple of months or longer, and then come back without any hassle.

Don't Wants:
Unbalanced Professions (i know its difficult to balance, but shorten the gap would be great)

Defensive power greater than offensive power by too much (yep, with 2 great balanced team with 100% concentration like robots in gvg, the game won't end until very late, fun to play? fun to watch? hell no)

Useless titles that don't even mean a thing or even fun to complete. for example cartographer: how the hell does walk around the map 100% even mean anything? other than u spent time and effort to achieve the title. same as drunkard, kurz/lux, and sweetooth. when there is a title that if wasn't there in the first place, u would not have gone thru the process to get it, it means u are only doing it for THE TITLE, not for anything else. kills a lot of fun in a game. kurz/lux could somehow get excluded a bit simply coz anet tied the alliance skill to it on purpose so people's grinding gets a little return. of course, a lot of other titles are there for the same purpose. grind, and keep elite player to have something to do... like doing snowman dungeon about hundred times, AB for about 3000+ hours (of course u can FFF, take a lot lesser, let's say u can god speed FFF and do 500 hours, sure that sound very normal...), vanquish the same area for about 30 times for eotn title, farm the most profitable area for 200 times so u can buy alcohol and sweets. all these titles are just there for one purpose, give players something to do after finish campaign because these titles are easy way out for the devs. some are challenging(guardian, vanquish, survivor), some just plain trying to waste ur time.

Wants:

Margonites, many many many Margonites
No monthly fee
Being able to solo whenever you want, as well as being able to team whenever you want, and still be able to succeed either way.

Don't Wants:

Being forced to use your GW1 character's names for GW2, in order to get goodies through the HoM.
WoW-style grinding/farming/forced teaming
Titles - they don't bring much except for elitism
~
Does Anet even read these threads?

Stuff from GW1 I want:

-very scaleable and yet great looking graphics even on modest machines (also I consider fast loading and streaming part of this)
-no monthly fee
-pvp available for newbies and veterans

Stuff from gw1 I do not want:

-the same restricted and not very interactive world to navigate in, without an actual z-axis, and interaction that doesnt go beyond pulling levers and picking up and dropping objects
-grinding for pve skills, and titles, it goes completely against everything guild wars is actually supposed to stand for
-heroes in pve, seriously just a maximum of 2 henchies in an 8 man team just to cover the monks or maybe nukers, that should be good enough. Districts with loners destroy any sense of community in-game, pvp is a much more social experience than pve even though it doesnt have to be

Wants:

1. Mesmers

2. Solo play as well as room for group play (I prefer to play without henchman - someone mentioned scaling mobs to your group size, which I like)

3. Lots of PvP options available to everyone (the ideas of "The Mists" is already known, but I hope they expand on that and offer more options)

Don't Wants:
1. Grinding of any kind

2. A linear story line that restricts open ended gameplay

3. An overwhelming amount of skills that are too situational

Keep:
  • Ability to do solo pve (using heros/henches) since real players
aren't always available for helping with hard quests and
    time-consuming things (eg exploring).
  • Heros. They were an excellent addition to GW.
  • Keep all the cool items coming, and the extra storage space
needed to store them (I love collecting items).

Get rid of:
  • The 3 hero per player limit (if I'm doing it solo I should be
able to fill up the party with my heros)
  • The plethora of boring cookie-cutter quests. I'd rather have
fewer but better quality quests to enjoy
  • Current non-realism, including the non-enterable buildings and
    the NPCs without voice effects!

New featurers to add:
  • More realism.
  • Good story-line
  • Exciting plot
  • Ability to venture inside buildings like brothels, inns, stores,
houses, castles (like in BG and most other RPGs)
  • Most NPC characters should have real voices,
at least the important story-line NPCs (again, like in BG)
  • Environment needs to look more realistic and less like it was
created using "cookie cutter" editing approaches
  • More races (need Dwarves, Elves, Tengu, etc)
  • More focus on items, the game economy, inventory and storage
space, an in-game auction system, etc

Ok, so the wants have to be something already in GW, and the don't wants are something we don't want in GW2, that is in Gw1?

Wants:
1. Diversity of environments - I love how there's a little bit of everything
2. A lot of different classes/skills to choose from.
3. Map Travel

Dont want:
1. Lack of reason to replay PvE with a character who has beaten the campaign
2. Lack of any real diversity in weapons beyond skin
3. Level 20 cap.

Oh, I dunno... maybe his S key is broken... Either that or he's sleepy.

npbiles66 has a good outline IMO.

Does anyone think that Anet will actually read this thread and take ideas from it, or will they continue to play Roulette in order to create GW2?

more monsters for farming areas
better skills for solo actions

the 3 only heros you can take..(there myherosanet nubs)
useless titles like: gamer, drunkard, and sweet tooth. useless no advantage. just a waste of money

You must understand, that I am not from Runescape and am not 13 years old. As you can imagine, my age is stated in my profile. Other than that, your name doesnt say much because 'warcrap' isnt a mature name.
I am the type of person which likes to type totally differently from everyone else because I enjoy being different. The z's just represent the s's. Im sorry, I will try to type in a different manner for your sake.

WANTS:
The same professions as in GW1, and maybe some from the concept page (drop my rit, and I'll drop your babies! )

Charr rits. 'nuff said.

*as stated above* less situational skills, but not to the point where everything is OP

8 skill system (still love it, please don't WoW it up)

quick cast times, especially for healing

non gear based fun

the double profession system, it leaves masses of room for creativity

DP (hey, it may suck, but it beats paying for durability, thus letting non farmers enjoy too)

quick gameplay overall, such as interrupt mesmers and rangers

same looks (GW has beautiful artwork)

Instanced guild halls? just don't want some shmuck runnin thru my hall during a party

more ranger pets ( I want my mini hippo back!!!!!!! )

DON'T WANTS:

PvE only skills. If I can't use it against another player, that means it is OP

Gimped paragons, mesmers, and spirit spamming rits

tons of reskins from GW1 weapons (you can keep crys, felblade, etc. in. they are famous by now)

Gwen. If she's STILL somehow alive, you better make her killable.

Few weapon modifiers. After a while, the number 20 is engraved in our brains as perfect (20/20 )

the option for dimensional armor (like moving beads, maybe auras or floating thingys too. anything that could or should move). Only an option though, so lower end pc's can still run good w/o it.

sucky beast mastery line. It would be nice to see pets a little more intertwined into ranger or /R gameplay. and while I'm thinking about it...

Charm beast with no heal. If people have to carry around 2/8 skills just to keep a pet alive, it's not really worth it.

prot spirit. I know flames will rise after monks read this, but it is already crazy powered in instanced stuff. ZI think it would end up even more powerful.

/endrant
